At the Homeschool Academy, we explore literacy through real world interaction and three-dimensional play, because words aren’t just symbols on a page–they’re our key to understanding the universe. That's why we say, "Inspired by play, we find the desire to learn."
Starting with children who are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten and including all students in the stages of early literacy, we get familiar with letters, their sounds, and their simple combinations through the utilization of play, songs and props. In this way, we avoid boredom, disinterest and fatigue, and embrace language with joy and passion.
All instruction is highly personalized to fit the individual needs of each student, beginning with an introduction to the letters and their sounds, proceeding into understanding letter combinations, and working towards spelling and recognizing words on the page.
Early Literacy Classes are composed of up to six students, and meet for one hour, twice a week. Enrollment includes online support, discounted drop-in tutoring sessions at the Homeschool Academy, and a free half hour introductory lesson.
In order for students to gain maximum benefits by participating in the course from beginning to end, please consider enrolling for a semester or school year.
$240 per Month (Tuition based on $30 per class, with a minimum of one month enrollment required.)
Learning happens through play.
Playing is imagining, and imagination fuels curiosity.
Curiosity leads us to desire a deeper understanding of the world.
Letters and words are guides to the world around us.
We seek to understand letters and words to satisfy our curiosity. Inspired by play, we find the desire to learn.
